Isiah Leggett Proclaims “Boscobel Marketing Communications Day” in Montgomery County
Montgomery County Executive formally recognizes 30th anniversary of Top 25-ranked metro area PR agency with a day in its honor
Oct•20Boscobel Marketing Communications, the Washington, D.C.-area branding and PR firm now celebrating its 30th anniversary, has had November 5, 2008 officially proclaimed “Boscobel Marketing Communications Day” in Montgomery County, Maryland, by County Executive Isiah Leggett.
A media advisory for an official photographic opportunity soon will be announced, to commemorate the proclamation through a personal presentation.
“It’s rewarding and heart-warming to have the local government recognize the anniversary of our company with a day in its honor,” said Boscobel President Joyce Bosc. “As we enter our fourth decade of service to some of the best-known businesses in the region, this special recognition shows the value of staying true to your roots.”
Boscobel has had a particularly solid year despite the current economic downturn. The company saw an increase of more than 50 percent in revenues over its last fiscal year, with a 100 percent client renewal rate from 2007 to 2008. In September, The Washington Business Journal named Boscobel among the top 25 public relations agencies in the D.C. metropolitan area, due in part to reported revenues in FY2007 of $1.7 million.
The company also recently won the Silver Inkwell Communications Awards Competition for its series of educational columns titled, “Business Smarts.” The award, presented annually by the Washington chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), will be officially conferred on Boscobel later in October.
In 30 years of continuous operation, the woman-owned company, which is also a GSA schedule contractor, has been responsible for numerous high-profile successes. Boscobel launched the corporate branding of America Online and is the first agency in the region with a dedicated Merger and Acquisition Transaction Support practice. The company’s current client list includes Citrix Systems; Cox Communications; TechTeam Global, Inc.; and QinetiQ North America.
“The economy may be slowing down, but Boscobel has never been stronger,” said Bosc. “We’re poised to help our current and prospective clients navigate these rough times with 30 years’ worth of experience. We thank everyone who has enabled us to get to this point — and who will be with us through our next important milestones.”
