Boscobel Marketing Communications, the Washington, D.C.-area branding and PR firm now celebrating its 30th anniversary, won the Silver Inkwell Communications Awards Competition for its series of educational columns titled, “Business Smarts.”

The award, presented annually by the Washington chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), recognizes excellence in business communication. Boscobel’s series of instructional columns was featured in the Washington Business Journal in 2007; Boscobel won in the category of “Writing - Educational or other informative writing.”

“We’re gratified that so many of our peers in business communications have recognized the quality of our work,” said Boscobel President Joyce Bosc. “In 30 years of business, we’ve amassed a wealth of business experience for companies serving both the public and private sectors. Our series of ‘Business Smarts’ columns was our way of sharing that information with readers who could benefit most from it.”

“We’re also particularly thankful to the Washington Business Journal for understanding that this series of columns could truly support the professional development of businesses throughout the region,” Bosc added.

In total, eleven Boscobel “Business Smarts” columns appeared in the Washington Business Journal. Six were published between June 1, 2007, and November 30, 2007:

  • “Business Developers Make the Most of Marketing”
  • “Tell Federal Customers What You Can Do For Them”
  • “Summer is Use-It-or-Lose-It Time for Federal Government”
  • “Networking Key to Unlocking Government Business”
  • “Learn to Talk the Talk of Government Business”
