Tips to Promote Your Newly Launched Website

In honor of the launch of our newly redesigned Boscobel website, we wanted to share with you a few tips for getting a new website top of mind presence. Keep these ideas in mind for any future website launches:

1. Build Anticipation

Create excitement for the new site by adding teasers to your email signatures and newsletters in the days and weeks leading up to your launch. If you know your launch date, start a countdown on your social media pages like Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook.

You can also send personal notes to key customers, partners and prospects to let them know that a new site will be coming soon and to alert them to new features.

2. Make a Splash

Issue a news release when you launch to help drive organic traffic to your website. In addition to your local media contacts, send the news release to your key audiences, and point them to the news and features that you’ve been talking about.

Continue to share information through your social media channels, and encourage questions and feedback. Monitor your Google Analytics page for traffic spikes and to learn which pages interest visitors the most. You can showcase those pages in your ongoing outreach.

Create a contest for website visitors to encourage two-way communication with your audiences. You can even develop a scavenger hunt for people to find certain items on the site and offer a prize for the winner.

3. Raise Awareness

Continue to reach out to new audiences through strategic advertising. Online ads in e-newsletters or on local news websites can be an easy way to increase both brand awareness and web traffic. Ads on Facebook and LinkedIn are very affordable and can target user demographics (age, job type, location, interests and more). Update your Google AdWords to include links to your new resources or language referencing the new content.

With a larger budget, you could also consider additional forms of advertising like radio, print or even outdoor.

4. Continue Your Momentum

To keep your website high in organic search rankings and useful to your target audiences, continue adding and sharing new content. Update your newsroom with press releases, articles and original content. Link your social media feeds to your home page or team member bios to automatically update content. Reach out to your customers and prospects when a new white paper or case study is added to the site. And, if your website has a blog, be sure to maintain a regular posting schedule.

With these tactics in place, your new website will be not only a resource for your customers, employees and prospects, but also an online lead generation tool.
