Audrey’s experience includes corporate communications for the largest telecommunications merger and acquisition in U.S. history. As Vice President of Corporate Communications of Nextel and Sprint Nextel, Audrey advised the executive team on all communications matters, ensuring stockholders, government regulators, community groups, customers and employees were apprised of the benefits of the merger, resulting in one of the quickest government approvals ever for a merger in the telecom industry.
She designed the corporate communications, internal communications, public affairs and field communications functions leading up to the $80 billion merger and provided strategic direction for the 140-member communications team nationwide. She also provided crisis communications, reputation management, financial communications, executive communications support, media relations strategy and execution, special events, field public affairs and community relations.
Prior to joining Nextel, Audrey was the principal of a public relations agency specializing in the telecommunications, financial and healthcare industries. Her efforts included strategic business plans, media relations, message development, lobbying, special event planning, corporate giving programs, media training, speechwriting, and orchestrating news conferences and trade shows.
